Anyone that has any kind of contact with me, either in person or on Facebook, has probably heard me extol the deliciousness of carrot dogs. I LOVE CARROT DOGS!! What might you ask are carrot dogs? That’s easy – they’re steamed whole carrots that are then seasoned and grilled – then eaten like a hot dog. Condiment food is how I like to think of them. They are fabulous. Even non-vegetarians love them. I didn’t merely want to talk about eating carrot dogs; I want to talk about the story of carrot dogs. And, because it’s me writing this tale, there are bound to be tangents.
Look – here’s one now…
As you may or may not know, I worked for several years at a wonderful restaurant as a baker – I met a whole slew of fabulous people when there (it was the most fun I ever had…

And you question the existential purpose of beans on toast?
Where should one put these comments on a reblog?
Any place is acceptable – any place.
Lovely…prepare for stuff what don’t make no sense.
I’m prepared –
I’m also all about the awkward turn of phrase ~
Don’t think that there won’t be no awkward turns of phrase neither.
I had all night to think……and I came up with that…
It’s a hard world sometimes. Drink coffee or tea with your toast beans.
What on earth are toast beans? And yuck to coffee…
toast coated with beans…. YUCK to coffee? Yuck to black hot tea 🙂
Yeah, I don’t like black tea either, except with a dollop of honey in it; I prefer mine with a little bit of milk.
I can’t behind tea – I like herbal tea or iced black tea and I’m a latecomer to coffee (and now making up for it by drinking it in copious amounts at times). I like my coffee black – like my thoughts. 🙂
I can’t stand coffee, for years I was put off by the smell, then I tried some and it was disgusting as I’d imagined…I’ve been known to turn down kisses because a girl has drunk some coffee.
As an aside, I read your BBW post yesterday; very moving, I hope it’s all going the right way for you.
I LOVE the smell of coffee (but not on anyone’s breath, yes that would put me off a kiss with a boy). The taste was definitely something I became accustomed to. But I hate the taste of beer (even stout which is coffee-like) and wine. Those make me shudder.
Thank you – I always like an aside – and yes, things are moving – slowly but moving. We still are avoiding meds and so far I’m ok with that.
I used to know a girl who didn’t smoke; but if I’d been drinking and smoking, she would happily kiss me because she said I tasted like a party! I would’ve always kissed her if she’d been drinking coffee.
If you can do it without meds I guess you can get a far better angle on what stuff works and what stuff doesn’t. Good luck…although I may have said that already.
Carrot dogs??? What??? Oh my
YUMMY
Um if you say so ( grin)
Great stuff.
🙂
You’ve sold me. I can’t wait to try these! Not sure I’ll be able to convince my sons to eat them though. Maybe if I bribe them with a Cold Stone Creamery stop afterwards…
Ha ha! Take me!!!! Like the new picture 🙂
Thank you. I put it out there in its obviously amateurish state (I’m just learning how to use Windows Paint; no fancy Photoshop for me), and Le Clown, AKA Eric, was kind enough to tidy it up for me. So much better now. He’s wonderful. 🙂
He is wonderful!
I’ve turned a couple of people on to carrot dogs because of this!
Yay! How can one resist them??????
Denise,
When I received the notification for this post, I was all like: yeah! a short one… that is just perfect for my short attention span. Then I saw this, and I cried.
Le Clown
Ha ha – you can read it in spurts. Don’t cry – it’s all good.
